1. Acceptance of Terms

By booking an appointment, creating an account, or using any services provided by JP Notary Services ("we," "us," "our"), you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

2. Notary Services

JP Notary Services is a nationwide platform connecting customers, businesses, and independent notary professionals across all 50 states. Notaries on our platform are independent contractors, each commissioned by their respective state. All notarial acts are performed in compliance with the laws and regulations of the state where the notary is commissioned.

  • A valid, government-issued photo ID is required for all notarizations
  • Signers must appear in person before the notary (except for Remote Online Notarization)
  • We reserve the right to refuse service if the signer appears to be under duress, impaired, or if the document appears fraudulent
  • Notarization does not constitute legal advice
  • Each notary is responsible for complying with their own state's notary laws and fee schedules

3. Appointments & Scheduling

  • Appointments are confirmed upon booking and subject to notary availability
  • Please have all documents ready at the time of the appointment
  • Late arrivals beyond 15 minutes may result in appointment cancellation and a travel fee charge
  • We provide appointment reminders via email as a courtesy

4. Fees & Payments

Notary service fees vary by state and are set in accordance with each state's applicable notary fee schedule:

  • Notarial act fees are determined by the state where the notary is commissioned
  • Travel fees are set by each notary based on distance from their base location
  • Additional fees may apply for witnesses, waiting time, rush/after-hours service, and printing
  • Loan signing packages are priced separately by each notary
  • Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise arranged

Accepted payment methods: Stripe (credit/debit card), Venmo (@Jean-Philippeaux-1), and Bitcoin.

5. Notary Partner Membership

Notaries who join the JP Notary Services partner network agree to:

  • Pay the applicable subscription fee (monthly: $4.98/mo · annual: $49/yr)
  • Maintain an active, valid notary commission in their state in good standing
  • Conduct all notarizations in compliance with their state's notary laws
  • Maintain professional conduct with all clients
  • Not represent themselves as JP Notary Services in a misleading manner

Notary Earnings: Notaries keep 100% of the fees they earn from their notary jobs. JP Notary Services does not take a percentage or commission from notary earnings. The $4.98/month (or $49/year) subscription is the only platform fee.

7-Day Free Trial: New notary members receive a 7-day free trial. A reminder email is sent before the trial ends so there are no surprise charges. After the trial, the subscription fee ($4.98/month or $49/year) is automatically charged to the card on file.

Cancellation: Notaries may cancel their subscription at any time from their portal. After cancellation, a 30-day grace period applies — during which the notary retains full access. After the grace period, the account is locked until reactivated. See our Cancellation Policy and Refund Policy for details.

Membership may be suspended or terminated for violations of these terms or conduct unbecoming a notary professional.

6. Limitation of Liability

JP Notary Services is not responsible for:

  • Documents rejected by a receiving agency for reasons unrelated to the notarization itself
  • Legal outcomes resulting from documents we notarize
  • Delays caused by traffic, weather, or other circumstances beyond our control

Our liability is limited to the fees paid for the specific service in question.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on this platform — including text, logos, and design — is owned by JP Notary Services. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute any content without written permission.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina. Any disputes shall be resolved in Wake County, NC courts.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of our services after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
